The valve oil seal is generally formed by external skeleton and fluororubber joint vulcanization. The orifice part is equipped with self-tightening spring or steel wire and is used for the sealing of engine valve guide rod. It is a type of oil seal. Oil can be prevented from entering the intake and exhaust pipes, causing loss of engine oil, preventing the mixture of gasoline and air and exhaust gas from leaking, and preventing the engine oil from entering the combustion chamber engine. The valve seal is one of the important parts of the engine valve group and is in contact with gasoline and engine oil at high temperatures. Therefore, it is necessary to use a material excellent in heat resistance and oil resistance, and it is generally made of fluororubber.
Valve seal installation and replacement
( 1 ) Removal steps for valve stem oil seal:
1 Disassemble the camshaft and hydraulic tappet and store it face down. Please note that tappets are not interchangeable during operation. Use a spark plug wrench 3122B to remove the spark plug, adjust the piston of the corresponding cylinder to top dead center, and screw the pressure hose VW653 / 3 into the screw hole of the spark plug.
2 Bolt the spring compression tool 3362 to the cylinder head. Adjust the relevant valve to the correct position and connect the pressure hose to the air compressor (air pressure at least 600 KPA ). Push the valve spring downwards with the threaded mandrel and thruster to remove the spring.
3 Tap the valve spring seat to remove the valve lock block. Pull out the valve stem oil seal with tool 3364 .
( 2 ) Valve stem oil seal installation.
Put plastic on the valve stem to prevent damage to the new valve stem seal. Apply a light coat of oil to the lip of the oil seal. Package the oil on the tool 3365 and slowly push it onto the valve guide. Special reminder: Before installing the intake and exhaust valves, apply a layer of engine oil to the valve stem.
